Can milk help you lose weight?

Milk is in vogue again as it is linked to weight loss by research.

Key nutrients found in milk - calcium and vitamin D - could help you to lose weight, according to Israeli researchers. The study followed a group of overweight or at-risk adults aged between 40 and 65 years who were put on low-fat, low-carbohydrate diets. The results found that those who drank two glasses of milk a day lost more weight over a two-year period than those who had little or no milk products - an average of about 5.5 kilograms in total. Researchers say that eating a balanced, nutritious diet, exercising regularly and drinking three glasses of low-fat or fat-free milk daily can help to maintain a healthy weight.
